Yngve Ekström Arka Spindle Chair, Sweden c.1950’s

Designed by Yngve Ekström in 1955 for Stolfabriks AB, Sweden. The Arka spindle chair is a classic example of Scandinavian modernism, constructed of solid beech with low profile and elliptical shape. Comes with removable vintage green vinyl back and seat cushions. In original vintage condition, a well worn but sturdy and attractive chair. Dimensions: 29”W x 26”H x 23”D, SH 14.5”

Condition: Dark walnut tone finish is worn and exhibits typical scuffs and scratches expected with age and use, especially around bottom of legs. One back leg has a chip to the wood as shown. Seat cushion was lightly glued into place at some point and residue visible to seat and underside of cushion. Some finish transfer from spindles onto backrest cushion as shown.
