Mid Century Studio Pottery and Fused Glass Framed Wall Art by Harold Nosti. An exceptional piece, Raised organic rings in natural fired red clay with accents of yellow, white and purple glaze, at the center of each is an “eye” with greenish yellow fused glass. Subject is an owls face in an abstract brutalist style. Mounted on and framed in raw wood with simple brass tone trim. Dimensions: 30”W x 19.5”H x 1.5”D
Condition: Overall great vintage condition, ceramic has some minor cosmetic age appropriate wear. Wood components have some fading and wear.
About the artist:
Harold Nosti (1928-2004) was a prolific Tampa artist primarily focusing in pottery and ceramics. He was a Professor of Art at University of Tampa from 1962-1992. After his retirement, he moved to North Carolina where he continued to work in his studio. He exhibited extensively, regionally and nationally. His work was shown at the Smithsonian, The Norton Gallery, Society of Four Arts and Provincetown National. His work is in corporate and private collections including Tampa Museum of Art, Patrick Lanen Collection, Louisiana State University, and William Harvard Collection.
